If you are here about recieving multiple/wrong emails from Contrast, see this announcement - http://www.contrastsupport.com/forum/index...mp;f=2&id=6
---------------------- We are planning on moving paramount and server1 to new boxes toward the end of the month. Apex (the company server contrasthost.com is located on) will be moved tomorrow. The specs of the planned boxes are listed below. They are a little different then what we are currently running but believe this is the best configuration for our clients. Dual Quad Core Intel Xeon processor 4GB RAM 3x 250 GB SATA Drives in RAID 5 500GB SATA Backup Drive 1000MB Network Port Same Great Network Same Great Service Each box will be in a completly different datacenter. After the issues that happened at The Planet (see here) we decided we should diversify our server locations to minimize the impact of something happening in the specific datacenter or the geographic location of where the boxes are located. We will have more details when it gets closer to the time when the moves will happen. If you have any questions or comments don't hesitate to post them! |

This is probably a n00b question, I was just curious if my site was included in the move. I see paramont included in the list of servers that will be effected and when I log into cpanel, it does say logging into paramont.contrasthost.com.
If effected, will we be gaining a benefit? Thanks. |

Your site will be one of them that will be moved. Currently paramount is running a 5300 Xeon processor with less cache and less processing power. We are also upgrading to bigger hard drives that will allow us to offer more disk space to our clients and we are diversifing our server locations to prevent from major disasters at a single datacenter location.

More space to shared customers?
I would love more MySQL databases on the $5 package (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Urm, need more excuses, Frank? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) |
